Our newest book is all about East Oakfield (area near the intersection of Fisher and Lockport Roads), Oakfield Corners (now called Five Corners), and North Oakfield (Albion, East Shelby, and Fisher Roads north of Lockport Road) along with the remarkable people, buildings, and businesses there. The West Shore Railroad comes to town and ten new industries spring up because of it. During this time, we get advances including electricity, telephones, and new cement replaces the "rotten plank sidewalks". The main business section was booming, and ten new streets were developed. Of all the villages in Genesee County, Oakfield was definitely the place to live.

Explains all about the Native peoples who lived in this area, and outlines the mysteries of the "Bone Fort" (a mountain of human bones) that was reported by Rev. Samuel Kirkland when he was here in the 1700's on a mission trip. Kirkland was a Princeton graduate, Presbyterian minister, and missionary among the Oneida and Tuscarora peoples of present-day central NY state. He was a long-time friend of the Oneida chief Skenandoa.
